Homecrest Industries, a leader in outdoor casual furniture manufacturing, has expanded its Kensington line for 1999. The Kensington Cushion collection combines the comfort of a cushioned seat with elegant styling and the stability of steel. "The Kensington Cushion has a stylish aspect to it with the scroll detailing on the arm rest. We wanted a bit more posh, so we put that styling into a high-backed basket for a cushion," said Arthur Apissomian, Homecrest furniture designer. "We also designed a new cushion style for the Kensington. The cushion has a center seam that comes up partway from the backrest to join a lateral seam detail. The seams sculpt the backrest of the cushion to give a nice pillow headrest." The Kensington Cushion is available in high-back swivel rockers, high-back dining chairs, and high-back loveseat gliders. A ratchet-back chaise and ottoman complete the collection. Homecrest has also added three new frame finishes for 1999. Now available are sage, in a textured matte finish; cognac, a bronze tone; and frost. "The new frost finish is especially nice," said Jan Trinkley, director of sales and marketing from Homecrest. "Everyone has a satin gloss white finish, but now we've added a white finish in a textured matte version. We expect the frost to be very popular." Homecrest offers a total of 13 frame finishes and over 125 fabric choices. Homecrest Industries is the four-time winner of the Manufacturer Leadership Award, presented by the Casual Furniture Retailers Association for business ethics, product design, customer service, and quality.
