Home Furnishings Plus Names 1998 Manufactures Rep. of the Year

Home Furnishings Plus recently announced the winners of its 1998 Mfg. Rep. of the Year award. The award is based on a contest started at Home Furnishings Plus in July 1998 to reward reps for their extra efforts and help in our stores and warehouse. A point system was used to determine the winners. Points were based on one-on-one sales training, sales meetings, product information sheets, warehouse visits, warehouse training and store upkeep. The prizes included a $1,000.00 bonus and trophy for the winner, and $500.00 bonus and trophy for the runner up and best Sales Trainer. A bonus was also given based on store profits to each rep with a minimum qualifying number of points. The program was designed to help share the vast amount of product information and sales knowledge our reps have with salespeople and reward them for their efforts in making salespeople the best in the area. It also let all reps know that they are an important part of the Home Furnishings Plus team. The winners for 1998 are: Co-Winner- Loyd Gerardot Simmons Company, Denver CO Co-Winner- Wayne Dewitt, Simmons Company, Denver, CO Sales Training Winner - Halle Carroll, Action/Lane, Denver CO Runner up - Bill Cook, Broyhill, Ft. Collins CO According to store management, the contest was a great help in achieving their goal in 1998 of having the most knowledgeable salespeople in the area and the best pre-sale service. They are looking forward to another year of great service from their reps and working together to make Home Furnishings Plus an even more consumer driven operation than it is today. What did the reps think? Loyd and Wayne said, "It makes one feel that you are truly a "partner" with the objective of helping grow the volume of the retailer as well as that of our own companies."
