Motif - (formerly Southern Florals) Introduces Furniture & Pillow Divisions

Kentucky based Motif is expanding its product line at this High Point market with the introduction of two new categories of product; furniture and decorative pillows. Founded in 1986, under the name of Southern Florals, the company is known for the reproduction of architectural and antique elements for their cast stone accessories. The company officially changed its name to "Motif' in January of this year to better describe the new directions it will be following, as exemplified by this market's introductions. According to Garwood Linton, Marketing manager of the firm, the antique revival theme is being carried into the furniture pieces as well as the pillows. "We will be using the aged look of the patinas of our stone finishes on our furniture pieces. We've reproduced old original antique furniture, not seen in the markets today. Our pillows will have the sense of 'Olde' as well, in our selection of textiles, soft shapes and feather/down inserts." said Linton "Our concept," he added, "is to give both our new product collections the sense of once upon a time being moved into Grandma's attic, where you went up, pulled down an old table or a trunk full of treasures and gave them a chance to be important and cherished again."
