Rhodes Launches Two New Stores in Dayton; 50 New Jobs and 100,000 Square Feet of Values

Rhodes Furniture is now in Dayton. The 124-year-old furniture company with a fashion forward focus by offering stylish furniture at exceptional values will celebrate its grand entrance into the Dayton market on Saturday, March 27, 1999. The new stores are located at 2500 North Fairfield Road in Beavercreek and 8361 Springboro Pike in Miami Township. The store manager for the Beavercreek location is Rob Ballentine and for the Springboro location is Janice Graves. "We're very excited about becoming part of the Dayton community, These two stores will help us meet our goal of providing quality merchandise at great values with an eye on convenience for our guests," said Steve Hurwitz, vice-president of Marketing for Rhodes based in Richmond, VA. "Our terrific values include collections from brand name manufacturer's like Lexington, Kincaid, Alexander Julian Home Colours, Bernhardt and Henredon, and home accessories that accentuate those lines." "Our number one objective is to provide quality and the beat values in the business without leaving style behind. We believe these new stores will give our guests the quality furniture they have dreamt of at a price they can afford," Hurwitz added. "Dayton has been on our expansion list for some time and we are very excited to grow in Ohio. We have eight other stores in the state with locations in Cincinnati, Heath and Columbus." The new stores official grand opening celebrations will feature several special events including door prizes valued at more than $18,000 at each location and a contest to win a one-year lease of a 1999 Chevrolet Cavalier. The ribbon-cutting ceremonies will take place at each Dayton location at 2 PM with local dignitaries including Miamisburg Mayor Dick Church, Jr., Miami Township Board of Trustees President Dave Coffey, Springboro Mayor Raymond Wellbrook, and Beavercreek Mayor Robert Glaser. The festivities continue on Saturday, April 3 when Guiding Light star Ron Raines, who plays Alan Spaulding, meets with fans and signs autographs at each location. In addition, register to win a lunch with Ron Raines, daytime drama star. Raines will appear at the Beavercreek location from 12:30pm. - 2:30pm. and the Springboro location from 3:00pm. - 5:00pm. Rhodes, Inc., a format of Heilig-Meyers Company, is one of the largest furniture retailers in the United States, and with these two new locations, a total of 99 stores in 14 states.
