Genesis Software Systems will unveil Genesis For Windows 2000 at the Summer Market in San Francisco. This new software program is the successor to the original Genesis For Windows furniture software system. It represents a substantial leap forward in features and technology. Genesis For Windows 2000 is a 32 bit update to the original 16 bit version of the program first released nearly 3 years ago (the 16 bit version of the program is presently installed in over 300 locations). Genesis For Windows 2000 is part of a long term strategy to continually bring leading edge software technology to furniture retailers across North America. Written in Microsoft's Visual Basic 6.0, Genesis For Windows 2000 boasts several improvements over the previous Genesis For Windows program. Some of the highlights include: Improved Execution Speed- User's will see a 40% improvement in program speed on all Windows operating platforms. This is possible because of technical advances in Visual Basic 6.0. "On-The-Fly" Sorting- A user can instantly rearrange the order in which items appear on a report just by clicking on a column header. For example, the items on a sales report can be interactively sorted by profit dollars, sale rates, sold units, etc. while viewing the report on-screen. Microsoft Office Compatible- Most of the information in Genesis For Windows can be exported into Microsoft Excel, or Microsoft Access, for custom reporting, charting, and analysis. Print Preview for all reports with Zoom In/Zoom Out capabilities. Wider Printer Support- Any Windows compatible printer can now be used. Improved On-Line Photo Capabilities- Includes support for popular internet "jpg" and "gif" file formats, color printing of photographs, and support for digital cameras. Existing clients can expect full compatibility with earlier versions of Genesis For Windows. "We expect to upgrade the majority our clients to this latest version of the software", states Gary Sauther, President of Genesis Software Systems, "The benefits, both short term and long term, will be substantial." Staff members from Genesis Software Systems will be on hand at the San Francisco Summer Market to provide free demonstrations and information about Genesis For Windows 2000. The display area for Genesis is located in the W.H.F.A. Resource Center on the seventh floor of Mart II. Product demonstrations will be available Friday, July 23th, through Sunday, July 25th.
