Kaon Interactive Inc. Announces Development of 3D Space Planner -Photorealistic Furniture and Accessories

Kaon Interactive Inc., the leading provider of 3D content for the Web, announced that it will release its HyperSpace Planner Version 1.0, early in the first quarter... The HyperSpace Planner is an interactive 3D application that will redefine the way businesses and consumers use the Web to create and display truly realistic space planning scenarios. Although the HyperSpace Planner can be used in virtually any commercial context where space planning and an object’s surroundings are important, Kaon’s initial deployment of the Planner will showcase the company’s photorealistic models of furniture and accessories to display the most realistic "what if" scenarios possible over the Internet today. "The furniture and interior design industries are screaming for a Web-based 3D room planning solution that is comprehensive, easy to use, and photorealistic," said Rich Silton, President and CEO of Kaon. "We have addressed the market’s concerns by offering a space planning application that eliminates the need for a plug-in—a major obstacle for end-users—and by providing photorealistic content that is the best available on the market today. The HyperSpace Planner is being developed using Java, enabling the application to work across platforms without the need to download a plug-in or signed applet. A user will configure their room in 2D by selecting wall, floor and ceiling surfaces and colors, determining the placement of doors and windows, and selecting the type and placement of furniture and fixtures. As the user makes changes, the 3D view of the environment will immediately change. Users will be able to configure and store multiple rooms in their own personal database. Custom versions of the HyperSpace Planner will be licensed to clients, in any industry, who wish to highlight their products or combine the products of various manufacturers to create Web site stickiness, drive traffic, and improve online and in-store sales.
