Happy Anniversary, Schewels!

Jack Schewel, president of Schewel Furniture Company, Donna Schewel Clark, vice president, and Marc Schewel, chief executive officer, take time to celebrate a major milestone in the company's history - its 100th anniversary. Marc, Jack and Donna are the fourth generation descendants of the company's founder, Elias Schewel. What once was a single location in Lynchburg, Va., in the late 1 890s has grown to 45 stores throughout Virginia, North Carolina and West Virginia, making it one of the largest and most successful furniture and appliance retail operations in the Southeast. As the Schewel family embarks upon their second century, they continue to be mindful of their traditions, while at the same time, look to the future with optimism, new ideas and a goal of being the total source for every consumer's home furnishing needs.
