FURNITURE CHINA '97- AN UNUSUALLY STRONG SHOW"

Furniture China '97, held on September 10-13, at the Shanghai Mart, was even more successful than the preceding years. The success is clearly a result of a large and expanding market for furniture in China. The exhibitors at the China show this year understood the importance of a Chinese market for their furniture. Over 400 exhibitors from 17 different countries were at the show including: Italy' Spain, Poland, Finland' and USA. Their presence paid off. The exhibitors used over 300,000 square feet. The trade show received over 37,000 in professional attendance. And an estimated US$120 million was traded in four days. The exhibitors stated that they were very pleased with the attendance, professionalism, and services offered at the China Furniture show. The success of the '97 show has already sparked excitement for the Furniture China '98. In fact' over 80,000 square feet has been pre-booked for next year.
