La-Z-Boy, a leading manufacturer of upholstered furniture, has announced the opening of a La-Z-Boy Furniture Galleries® in Montgomery, Ala., located at 6280 Atlanta Highway. The new 23,500-square-foot store features the full selection of stylish La-Z-Boy® furniture, beautiful accent pieces, and a professionally-staffed design center to help customers put it all together. In addition to the opening of the La-Z-Boy Furniture Galleries, Kincaid opened its first-ever Kincaid Home Furnishings store connected to a La-Z-Boy Furniture Galleries in the United States. Both La-Z-Boy and Kincaid are subsidiaries of La-Z-Boy Incorporated. The additional 5,800-square-foot store, exclusively featuring Kincaid® furniture, brings the total square footage of both stores to 29,300-square-feet. As America’s largest producer of solid wood furniture, Kincaid uses only fine hardwoods such as cherry, oak and maple to create distinctive collections for the bedroom, dining room, occasional and entertainment areas of the home. “La-Z-Boy and Kincaid are renowned for style and quality, and together both stores will offer a wide array of furniture for any home, including styles ranging from contemporary to classic and casual to traditional,” said Bill Morris, store owner. “The style and quality of genuine La-Z-Boy and Kincaid furniture, combined with the design expertise, selection, convenience and service at both stores provide customers with an easy and enjoyable furniture shopping experience.” The grand opening was celebrated with a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Oct. 29. Several company officials attended the festivities, including Kurt L. Darrow, president of La-Z-Boy; Patrick H. Norton, chairman of La-Z-Boy Incorporated; and Steve M. Kincaid, president of Kincaid Furniture. Also on hand were Bobby Bright, mayor of Montgomery; Kristy Meanor, area director of the American Diabetes Association; and Lisa Hemphill, assistant local director of the Arthritis Foundation. “In honor of our store’s grand opening and ongoing commitment to community involvement, we are donating $2,500 each to the American Diabetes Association and the Arthritis Foundation,” said Morris. “We are very pleased to have the opportunity to support these two, well-known and respected national charities.” Morris also owns and operates two other La-Z-Boy Furniture Galleries in Birmingham, Ala., and Chattanooga, Tenn. La-Z-Boy Furniture Galleries showcase the entire selection of La-Z-Boy furniture offerings, including the company’s world-famous recliners, along with motion sofas, sleep sofas, sectionals, stationary sofas and chairs, and leather upholstery. Organized in “galleries” – including a Living Room Gallery, Family Room Gallery, Sleep Sofa Gallery, Leather Gallery, and, of course, a Recliner Gallery – the furniture at La-Z-Boy Furniture Galleries stores is displayed in vignettes complete with occasional and accent furnishings by La-Z-Boy subsidiaries Alexvale, Hammary® and Kincaid, along with a dramatic selection of decorative accents, including lamps, area rugs, wall art and accessories, all available for sale. Professional Design Assistance Every La-Z-Boy Furniture Galleries showroom is built around a La-Z-Boy Design Center, which is staffed by design consultants and was created to provide customers with inspiration, answers and helpful assistance. Included in the design area is the La-Z-Boy Screen Test® video catalog system that allows customers to design their own furniture by rendering any La-Z-Boy product in their choice of hundreds of fabric and leather covers. “Emphasizing design and style, the La-Z-Boy Furniture Galleries exemplify our direction for the future of La-Z-Boy,” said Darrow. “By providing our customers with design assistance and an enjoyable shopping experience, we are going beyond offering exceptional products by giving them complete solutions for their homes.” Making the shopping experience even more family-friendly, these stores feature a wide circular pathway for easy navigation with children and strollers. Eye-catching signage guides shoppers through the store, directing them to the various galleries and providing meaningful information along the way. And, there is even a fun, interactive and educational play station in the Design Center area to entertain young children while parents work with the store design consultants to create the rooms of their dreams. Headquartered in Monroe, Mich., La-Z-Boy is the nation’s largest manufacturer of upholstered furniture and the world’s leading producer of reclining chairs. It is a division of La-Z-Boy Incorporated, the nation’s largest furniture manufacturer. Adjoining Kincaid Home Furnishings Store The new Kincaid Home Furnishings store is the first proprietary store to be connected to a La-Z-Boy Furniture Galleries in the United States, and features furniture collections for the bedroom, dining room, occasional and entertainment areas of the home. “We are thrilled to be opening an adjoining Kincaid Home Furnishings store to the new La-Z-Boy Furniture Galleries in Montgomery,” said Kincaid. “As two subsidiaries of La-Z-Boy Incorporated, both La-Z-Boy and Kincaid provide customers with complimentary, stylish and quality furniture pieces for the home.” Kincaid, based in Hudson, North Carolina, is a subsidiary of La-Z-Boy Incorporated, and distributes its products through middle and upscale retailers, including La-Z-Boy Furniture Galleries®, Kincaid’s own store network and in-store galleries.
