Deco Design, a breakthrough software solution for furniture retailers and manufacturers will be demonstrated at this month's International Home Furnishings Market in High Point, North Carolina. Deco Design, developed by the international software company ACA, is an easy-to-use sales tool that allows the user to manipulate photo-realistic catalogue objects in 3D space. "Deco Design solves two major problems faced by furniture salespeople, which are the ability of the customers to visualize their room with new furniture and the lack of display space" says Oz Ragonis, ACA's North American General Manager. "Manufacturers and retailers cannot show customers what every item with every fabric choice will look like. They rely on swatches and printed catalogues for that. They also cannot show a customer what different items will look like together, because floor space is limited and the combinations are endless. And they surely cannot show a customer what the furniture will look like when the customer gets it home," says Ragonis. Deco Design solves all these problems. By using sophisticated 3D display tools with an interface designed for novices, Deco Design users can create a "virtual room" in minutes that resembles the customer's home or office. They can then move catalogue items - furniture, accessories, etc... -- around the virtual room. With simple clicks of the mouse, the customer can see different items together, different fabric choices, and even a running budget that changes as items are brought-in or removed. Deco Design images are so realistic that the user can even set ambient lighting levels. The key to the software is its "moving eye" capability. This feature allows users to view the room from different perspectives to get a truer sense of the space. Deco Design is much more powerful than anything on the market today because it was built on the 3D CAD engine ACA originally designed for the needs of architects and engineers, users who demand sophisticated and extremely accurate imaging. Deco Design is also made to simplify sales and management tasks by linking the computer catalogue to the company's back-room tasks. "You can issue automatic quotes and a bill of materials on a single printer. You can tie in with any Windows based applications for making presentations and you can even track the location of every real inventory item by linking the store's database to Deco Design." Sales staff can also use Deco Design when they are away from the showroom using laptops. It is also an ideal solution for interior designers who can show clients what finished spaces will look. Deco Design is already well known name in Europe. The package is being used by more than 100 companies such as Steelcase Strafor, Roche Bobois, and several other major furniture retailers and manufacturers. Over the last year ACA has set up a major marketing and support operation in North America to service its growing list of American clients. ACA is an international software house, which develops sophisticated 3D applications for computer-aided design and sales. ACA has marketed its products trough a network of subsidiaries and distributors in over 30 countries in a dozen languages. The International Home Furnishings Market held each April and October is a huge event draws 70,000 people in the furniture industry and is the largest wholesale trade event in North Carolina. High Point is the home of over 125 furniture plants and over 60 retail discount furniture stores.
