GHFA Elects 1998-1999 Board And Executive Committee

At the recently held Georgia Home Furnishings Association convention at the Amelia Island Plantation Resort in Amelia Island, Florida, the leadership for 1998-1999 was elected. The GHFA is in its 44th year of service to the Georgia Home Furnishings dealers and is the largest independent state home furnishings association in the country. Outgoing President, Jack Cammack of Christopher Michael's Furniture, Dublin/Macon, GA presented the gavel to Jerry Hohman of Havertys Furniture, Atlanta, GA during the association's Annual Membership meeting. The Executive Committee for 1998-1999 consists of Jack Cammack as Chairman; Jerry Hohman as President; Bud Keller, Signature Sofa Gallery, Duluth, GA as 1st Vice President; Anthony Waters, L. A. Waters Furniture, Statesboro, GA as 2nd Vice President; and Jeri Hadaway, Field Furniture, Kennesaw/Marietta, GA as 3rd Vice President. The GHFA Board of Directors with one-year remaining include Ginger Andrews, Andrews Gallery, Augusta; Barry Edleman, Havertys Furniture, Savannah; James Gant, Treasures For Your Home, Gainesville; Joel Garrison, Garrison's Furniture, Canton; Richard Hay, La-Z-Boy Furniture Galleries, Savannah; Stephen Jones, Beverly Hall Furniture Galleries, Atlanta; Jack Moore, Moore's Furniture, Macon; Chip Riddle, Eastbridge Gallery, Rome; Tom Sanders, Sanders Furniture, Winder; Cheryl Sock, The House, Alpharetta; and Gene Stoltz, Bolton Furniture Co., Mableton. David Renkes with Lexington Furniture will serve as Liaison between the retail association and the Georgia Home Furnishings Representatives Association. The newly installed directors include Jim Cox, Towne & Country Furniture, Norcross; Angela Edwards, Aunt Zelda's Furniture, Macon, Asa Garrett, Custom Furniture, Swainsboro; Greg Glass, Farmers Furniture, Dublin; Johnny Jenkins, Goldberg's Furniture, Waynesboro; Parks Jones, Suburban Furniture, Albany; Eddie Loosier, Pilgrim-Estes Furniture, Gainesville; Austin Turner, Turner Furniture, Albany; and Larry Whelan, Whelan's Furniture, Savannah. Rhonda Wolf, Havertys Furniture, Gainesville, will serve as Director-at-Large for a one-year term. Also serving as a part of our Board is a Convention Planning Committee which consists of Claude Bailey, Decatur, GA, Joel Jackson, Joel's Furniture Galleries, Snellville, GA; and Sidney Dassinger, Guardsman Products/Massoud, Berkeley Lake, GA. Elizabeth Tarpley, Insuramerica Corporation, serves as Insurance Liaison for the GHFA. Katherine Rawlings serves as the full-time Executive Director with offices in Atlanta.
