The Valencia Furniture Fair Is Spain's Largest Event

According to statistics published recently by the Association of Spanish Fairs (AFE), the International Furniture Fair of Valencia (FIM) is the leading trade fair in Spain as regards total occupied floor space. The statistics, audited by Price Waterhouse, allocated the 1996 FIM event with a total of 71,968 square meters of exhibition space. The forthcoming FIM Event, to be held from 22 to 27 September this year, looks likely to go well beyond these levels. By the end of June reservations had already exceeded 70,000 square meters of floor space. Forecasts made by the organizers call for around 74,000 square meters of net exhibition space in all. The International Furniture Fair of Valencia is also a leader in other trade fair parameters such as foreign visitors and number of direct exhibitors. FIM also ranks among the top Spanish trade events due to its foreign visitor levels. The 1996 event, for example, hosted 4,967, according to data supplied by the AFE.
