The International Wood Products Association has just released the 2003/2004 edition of its Directory of Members further aimed at...promoting and supporting trade in wood products from well-managed forests. Manufacturers and professionals have long recognized that some of the world’s most beautiful woods come from tropical forests. And now, finding imported woods has never been easier. The directory contains complete information on more than 180 companies in nearly 20 nations globally---U.S. wood products importers, processors, manufacturers, sellers and users, service providers, and overseas producers and exporters. Customers can easily locate sources for Jatoba, Meranti, Khaya, and numerous commercially traded species, as well as those lesser known. Sections are included that feature email and web site addresses for members, as well as an easy accessible index that cross-references companies by products and business type. A separate section for overseas organizations has been added. The International Wood Products Association, founded in 1956, represents the interests of companies importing the majority of woods into the U.S., companies with interests allied to the industry (including manufacturers, sales representatives, steamship lines, customs brokers, and port authorities), as well as overseas producers and exporters of wood products to the U.S., and the major organizations to which the producers belong. Copies may be purchased for $10 each (IWPA Members); or $50 each (non-members). Order forms may be printed out on-line here, or by contacting IWPA , 4214 King Street, Alexandria, Virginia 22302; Ph: 703-820-6696; Fax: 703-820-8550; eMail: info@iwpawood.org .
