The International Sleep Products Association (ISPA) will host ISPA EXPO 2004, the world’s largest tradeshow devoted exclusively to the bedding industry, March 24-27, 2004 in Indianapolis, IN at the Indiana Convention Center. The biennial convention, held in odd-numbered years since 1920, will feature educational seminars with experts in foreign affairs, finance, and politics, plus extensive supplier exhibits dedicated solely to the mattress industry that include vital information about new flammability regulations. Michael Colopy, a foreign affairs authority who specializes in US China relations, will address China’s impact on U.S. manufacturing. James K. Glassman, a well-respected financial and political expert who writes for the Washington Post and Wall Street Journal, will offer insight on the future of the American economy, technology, and the stock market. Frank Abagnale, FBI consultant and reformed con man featured in the motion picture “Catch Me if You Can,” will address EXPO attendees at a special industry breakfast. A global exhibition of mattress machinery, equipment, services, and materials with product demonstrations will highlight the industry’s technological advances in an era of adjustment to the latest processes and regulations. Recent California flammability standards for mattresses, the industry’s most significant new regulatory focus, will underlie new product technologies and their impact on business. In addition to the educational seminars and exhibits, ISPA EXPO 2004 international manufacturer participants can take advantage of an optional tour to the local Sleep Products mattress factory and Kittles Retail Store. Visits to other local area attractions are offered to all participants. “This EXPO will feature numerous opportunities for bedding professionals from around the world to network during what is a crucial time in the industry,” says Debi Sutton, ISPA Vice President of Marketing and Member Services. “The convenience and accessibility of Indianapolis, the top-notch educational program, plus the wide range of new exhibitors and products should make ISPA EXPO 2004 the best EXPO ever. Early response indicates it will be a sell-out exhibit show,” she notes. For more information or to register for ISPA EXPO, visit the ISPA Web site at www.sleepproducts.org/ispaexpo.
