Outdoor Furniture Looks Like Indoor Furniture

Outdoor furniture may make its way from the backyard to the front door since the newest styles are charming enough to cross the threshold. There seems to no longer be a difference between decorating the inside or the outside of a home. Homeowners are playing dress up with the backyard, too. Sugar Beach Interiors in Destin showcases some of the stars of the 2004 outdoor furniture collections. “We are very excited about the new designs,” says Karen Waterfield, owner of Sugar Beach Interiors in Destin, “We chose these lines because they are well-made, well-designed, and they suit the coastal lifestyle.” The latest designs in outdoor furniture are fashion forward without compromising functionality. Premium finishes, hi-end materials and new fabrications have improved durability to the elements and are made to withstand the hot Florida sun. According to Century Leisure, which has recently introduced two new lines, the term outdoor furniture is too limiting because its new designs extend the ambience of luxurious indoor living to outdoor spaces, including sunrooms and verandahs. Century’s Archipelago line is made from teak and has a stunning plantation-shutter back with reeded legs and rosette detailing. The second line, Andalusia, features draped fabric that cascades into a Gondola-styled back. "Many clients have been reluctant to invest in outdoor furniture in the past because of its limited durability due to our tropical climate. But the newer materials are performance driven and can withstand the elements,” says Waterfield, “Creating an outdoor utopia in one’s home is a trend that will continue to flourish." Although furniture sales are included in their services, Sugar Beach Interiors is not just a furniture showroom but rather a design firm with a selection of furniture and original art. While focusing their design efforts predominantly along the Emerald Coast, Sugar Beach Interiors understands the varied design styles found in custom-built, residential homes, as well as condominiums located within resorts and planned-coastal communities. Referred to as “A Design and Art Gallery”, the firm has grown into a team of professional licensed designers. Their steadfast success is attributed to their reputation for business integrity and their commitment to interior design excellence begins with customer service and extends through every department of the firm.
