cmi Appoints Four To Management Positions

cmi (Colonial Mills, Inc.), a leading manufacturer of braided-texture rugs and accessories, announced the appointments of Donald R. Minchello, Jr. and Federico E. Read to the positions of Materials Manager and Production Manager, respectively. The company has also expanded its Information Technology Department with the naming of William R. Turgeon to the position of Chief Information Officer and Jonathan H. Garniss to the position of EDI Specialist/Technical Support. The appointments were made to keep pace with cmiís significant growth. In his capacity as Materials Manager, Minchello will be responsible for the management and control of inventory, purchasing of all yarn, fillers and fabrics, the negotiating of yearly contracts and forecasting materials needs. Prior to joining cmi, Minchello held the positions of Desktop Support Analyst for Perot Systems at Harvard Pilgrim Health Care in Quincy, MA and Risk Management Assistant at TAC Worldwide Companies, Newton Upper Falls, MA. He earned his Certificate in Windows NT Administration from Clark University Computer Career Institute in Braintree, MA. Minchello currently resides in Braintree. Readís responsibilities as Production Manager ñ Second Shift include reinforcing the companyís existing Open Book Management and Lean Manufacturing practices, training and developing the production team and ensuring that schedules and quality standards are met. Read previously held a number of production supervisor and management positions with Serta Mattress Co., Inc., Middleboro, MA and Protective Technologies International, Inc., Hastings-on-Hudson, NY. He earned his MBA from the University of New Haven, New Haven, CT and his bachelorís degree in Industrial Engineering from the Technology Institute of Santo Domingo in the Dominican Republic. Read presently resides in Rumford, RI. As Chief Information Officer, Turgeon will be responsible for providing strategic and tactical planning and development, evaluation, delivery and operation of the companies information and technology systems, including ERP, voice, data, communications and office automation. His prior work experience includes holding the position of Director of Information Systems for Possible Dreams, Ltd. in Foxboro, MA and Manager of Manufacturing Applications for Toray Plastics America, Inc., North Kingstown, RI. A resident of Coventry, RI, Turgeon earned his associateís degree in Computer Science from the Community College of Rhode Island, Warwick, RI. In his capacity as EDI Specialist/Technical Support, Garniss will set up, maintain and manage the performance of Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) transactions with all customers and provide technical support for ERB software and network servers. Previously, he worked as an EDI Consultant for EDI Specialists in Raynham, MA and EA Consulting in Sacramento, CA. He also held the position of Senior Systems Analyst for DFS Group, Ltd. in San Francisco, CA and EDI Project Leader at Corporate Software & Technology in Norwood, MA.
