Universal Furniture Taps Tamra Leininger For Upholstery Post

Universal Furniture International, Inc. announced the appointment of Tamra L. Leininger to the position of Merchandising Manager for the company’s upholstery division. She reports to Roy Calcagne, Senior Vice President and General Manager for Universal upholstery. Leininger will be responsible for the division’s fashion direction as well as developing new frame designs and overseeing fabric selections. “We are pleased to have someone with Tamra’s design experience join our team. She has an in-depth understanding of the consumer market and we are certain she will have an immediate and positive impact,” notes Calcagne. The position of merchandising manager is a new one for Universal, added “due to the rapid acceptance of our upholstery program at retail and to support the company’s strategic expansion plans,” says Calcagne. Leininger has previously worked with nationally recognized interior design firms including Madge Megliola Interior Designs and with Burlington Industries as a sales executive for their Klopman Fabrics and Lees Carpet divisions.
