“It’s all in the details,” states designer Barclay Butera, ASID, who brings to Fall’s High Point Market his consistently elegant and accessible approach to ‘fashion for the home’ through his 100% customized Butera Home Furnishings (BHF).  Located at IHFC Interhall H138, Butera continues to refine his upholstery line and create unique pieces that mass producers of furniture simply cannot, and that his quality clientele expects. Butera takes the traditional, and pushes it to its outer limit.  In his interior designer role of creating ‘fashion for the home’, Butera has always guided his clients to integrate their own personal, classic pieces with new classics that contain an edgier element (through new fabrics, modern tailoring, etc.)…as one does with a timeless and ideal wardrobe.  In his role as designer of fine upholstery (i.e. BHF) – with approximately one hundred custom frames on hand he is able to experiment more easily than mass producers partly because he applies his interior design background almost daily to his own three retail showrooms, where he receives client-reaction at a street level.   Taking this knowledge to his own plant, he is able to perfect the details and be proactive because of his access to flexibility in manufacturing procedures (time, cost) and the artisan-like craftspeople he employs to perfect his experiments.   His Davis Chair (see below), for instance, is the direct result of hearing what his clientele wanted.  It is a piece with extreme detailing – tight tufting, radius back and high-end stitching and symmetry – and Butera has found that those and similarly special features distinguish his designs, showcase how he takes ‘traditional’ to the edge, and make him a leader. This Fall, Butera continues his theme of old-Hollywood glamour and clean, tailored styling with stunning details.  His palette is soothing blues, neutrals and browns.  Butera Home Furnishings is proud to present for Fall’s High Point Market the following: -The Rene Chair:  New release.  The chair partner to his last season’s popular Rene Loveseat.  Its rounded tufted back, bench cushion with high box pleated flounce, and Cream Petit Point fabric, combine to create a beautiful, comfortable accent chair for the living room or bathroom with a wonderful feminine approach.  Radius is further accented, providing a rare shape in the industry due to the greater cost, time and attention to detail required in manufacturing. (34”x36”) -The Cambridge Storage Bench/Ottoman:  New release.  Decorative utilitarian piece (storage, coffee table, dressing bench) – perfect at the foot of a King bed, or customized for a family room.  Brown Rattan base is topped with tufted Silk Route Porcelain fabric.  Notable detailing includes inside storage lining and triple turned legs sans casters.  (72”x20”x19”) -The Davis Chair:  Classic radius back wing chair envelopes you; tall with perfectly symmetric, tight tufting.  Shown in batik-inspired Cream Teal Floral Linen, with dark wood finish and nickel nailheads.  Highlights attention to detail through stitching and symmetry.  (33”x36”x47”) -Sussex Sofa:  Sofa’s tailored quality includes clean, classic lines – as in clothing -  with a dressmaker flounce, flush arm and 2-over-2.  Shown in rich Brown Linen with grosgrain ribbon. (72”x40”) -Grant Sofa:   The sofa equivalent of last Market’s ever-so-chic, brown mohair Grant Chair (inspired by the style of the Cary Grant era).  Like the chair, the Grant Sofa features the antique style rolled arms, nickel nailheads, and fine tapered dark wood bracket base.  Shown in Ocean Tuscany Linen. (72”x38”) Butera Home Furnishings, Inc. (BHF), one of two corporations owned and run by Barclay Butera, is home to both the Butera Home Furnishings line which is distributed in over 300 retailers nationwide, and to Barclay Home, a line of furnishings exclusively to-the-trade, available through select design centers.   Both lines are designed and manufactured by Butera.  BHF maintains wholesale showrooms in High Point, NC, and Atlanta, GA, and a manufacturing plant in Los Angeles, CA.  Barclay Butera, Inc. (BBI), Butera’s 12-year old corporation, also based in Newport Beach, CA, entails the Barclay Butera retail/wholesale showrooms in Newport Beach and Los Angeles, CA, and Park City, UT.
