One hundred and twenty-five years is an anniversary well worth marking. But according to fourth-generation leader of the family-owned furniture business, Chairman Rob Sligh, Jr., 125 years is simply a great beginning. “Through the years, Sligh has adapted its product lines, its manufacturing and its dealer base,” he said. “One thing has remained constant: well appreciated product innovation developed by a superb team of people that make a positive difference for our company, our industry and high-end consumers everywhere. Thanks to all the people at Sligh in all areas, our first 125 years has been a great beginning.” To celebrate the occasion, Sligh Furniture Co. is introducing a striking eight-piece collection of limited edition executive office furniture – each piece made in quantities of 1880 to mark the historic date of the company’s founding in West Michigan by Charles R. Sligh. Available in spring 2005, this elegant ensemble made of fine mahogany solids and swirl mahogany veneers is being previewed at the fall 2004 International Home Furnishings Market, October 14-20, at the Sligh showroom at 310 North Hamilton St., High Point, North Carolina, USA. “This distinctive collection of executive office furniture is designed especially for people who appreciate the clean, transitional styling found frequently in today’s more contemporary d?cors,” said Jeff Pulver, Sligh’s manager of product development. “Sligh’s 125th anniversary group is made of beautiful mahogany solids and vintage swirl mahogany veneers, and finished in a relaxing brown-blond antique finish that features light distressing. The Kent finish has a smooth, buttery feel that superbly accentuates the furniture’s natural mahogany grain. The styling deftly combines 1880s tradition with a sophisticated, clean look designed to create broad appeal among today’s consumers. All pieces are handsomely accented with solid brass cast hardware. Each desk in the group features a commemorative 125th anniversary limited edition brass plate.” Sligh’s 125th anniversary executive office furniture collection Individual pieces in Sligh’s impressive 125th anniversary executive office furniture group include a pedestal desk, serpentine leg desk with ball and claw legs and kidney-shaped desk, along with Sligh’s trademark office grouping of credenza, deck, bookcase and two-drawer lateral file.
