Capel Incorporated, manufacturer and importer of original area rugs since 1917, created a Fall selection of area rug designs with a focus on vivid color and luxurious texture. Hues employed throughout the fifteen new selections introduced at the International Furniture Market in High Point this October, reflected the very latest trends in the fashion and interior design worlds. Using fine fibers like New Zealand wool, silk, cotton and chenille, Capel collided new color palettes with luxurious constructions that made for an unforgettable High Point Market. In addition to many new products, Capel also unveiled a 4,000 square foot addition to its permanent Market Square location. The new space highlights one-of-a-kind hand knotted wool and wool/silk rugs imported from countries including Persia, India, and Afghanistan. These new pieces in the Capel collection include a wide variety of patterns in current colorways, large sizes, and deep discount prices. Two new collections of distinction introduced at Market were Elk Lodge and Chincoteague, both flatweaves with a warm, rustic appeal. Elk Lodge, handloomed in India from rich, textured New Zealand wool, is a solid pattern with a heathered look. Chincoteague dazzled visitors with its vibrant colors and its soft feel. The striated pattern creates a dramatic effect on the floor, and the design is made ultra-soft by its rayon and chenille construction. Capel teamed up with licensee Colonial Williamsburg® to introduce a new collection of indoor/outdoor machine woven rugs. Stencil Square is an addition to the Finesse collection, but it differs from the previous designs with its geometric shapes and patterns and its arts and crafts feel. Woven on a sisal-look loom, Stencil Square is made to withstand weather, easily cleaned with a garden hose, and available in classic colonial colorways. Another handsome collection introduced at market was hand tufted Antoinette. (pictured above) Antoinette includes an intricately hand carved flower and meandering vine border that tips its hat to traditional arabesque design. This collection is highlighted by its high-luster, 100% washed wool, and the pattern's elegance and grace are unmatched in the industry. Color innovation in the braid category was revealed through several new original Capel collections. Oasis, a cotton and chenille braid, is reminiscent of Capel bestseller, Cutting Garden, with an updated color palette. Gingham made a return to the company's portfolio this Fall with the debut of Bow Tie, a banded gingham and chenille oval braid available in vivid hues like yellow, blue, and lavender. Capel offered new colors, Harvest, Olive, and Charcoal in popular outdoor braid Woodrun. The collection is now available in twelve colorways that integrate nicely into a sunroom or veranda. All Capel braids are crafted in North Carolina since 1917. Expanding into the bath market, Capel introduced a series of luxury bath rugs, Posh, Allure, Encore, and Silkie. Ranging from good, better, and best qualities, Posh, Allure and Encore are all spa-quality rugs constructed of 100% cotton in a variety of vibrant colors. Silkie, a true standout in the bath arena, blends soothing colors with the company's patent pending Softtouch® fibers. The natural latex backing and twisted fibers draw water from the surface of the rug like a sponge.
