Mary Frye, President of HFIA, Named to WithIt Post

Mary Frye, President of Home Furnishings International Association, has accepted the position of Mentoring Chair for WithIt (Women In The Home Industry Today). The term of office begins with the organization's October 2004 Board meeting held during the High Point market. As the Mentoring Chair, Frye will support the Student Day of Mentoring during the fall and spring High Point markets, review and support questions of the MentorMe section of the WithIt web site, support one-on-one mentoring, and support student chapters of the organization. “Having been the recipient of the efforts of many kind and wise mentors, I was naturally drawn to this opportunity. While I find the home furnishings industry to be a caring arena, learning from those who have traveled the path to success always shortens the journey for newcomers. I look forward to the challenges and victories that are before WithIt,” says Frye. WithIt's mission is to encourage and develop leadership, mentoring, education, and opportunity for professional women in the home furnishings industry. Since its inception in 1997, members have been pursuing this mission with passion. Founded in 1923, HFIA is a membership-based, national organization that is the choice and voice of independent-thinking home furnishings professionals, offering business tools for operating more profitably.
