Padma’s Plantation, one of America’s leading designers, manufacturers and wholesalers of plantation, tropical, Latin-inspired and contemporary furniture and accessories, has opened its first dedicated store. The 2,000 sq. ft. store is located in the popular Palmetto shopping district in Amelia Island, Fla., a small island town just north of Jacksonville. The grand opening was held on October 15th, with Renee Fanjon, president and director of design for Padma's Plantation, in attendance. “Our furniture is about the tropical, plantation lifestyle," says Fanjon, "and Amelia Island was the ideal location to open our first store.” The grand opening included a ribbon-cutting ceremony and a giveaway of a Bali Wing Chair. The chair, which is part of the Bali Collection, drew interest from the attendees, as a Bali Wing Chair was recently featured in a room makeover episode of The Oprah Winfrey Show. Padma’s Plantation has permanent showrooms in Atlanta and High Point, and will have a showroom at the World Market Center in Las Vegas in 2005. The firm’s collections are also sold in rep showrooms in Chicago, Dallas, Denver, Seattle, New York and San Francisco.
