In an effort to increase crossover buying and selling opportunities for sewn products industry exhibitors and attendees, Material World will introduce a new Home Furnishings section during the March 16-18, 2005 edition at the Miami Beach Convention Center. Offering a variety of fabric, leather, trim and service resources for home furnishings industry members, this new section complements Material World’s extensive selection of apparel resources and firmly establishes it as the one-stop global resource for sourcing, fabric, trim and trends. Material World plans to develop this Home Furnishings section featuring a variety of mills, converters, leather and trimming manufacturers showcasing product in a wide variety of categories, including cottons, chenille, chintzes, velvets, faux fabrics, flocks, jacquards, leather, sheeting, tapestries and more. Target attendees for Material World’s Home Furnishings section include upholstery manufacturers, retailers, interior designers, jobbers and over-the-counter businesses. “By expanding Material World’s offerings to include home furnishings resources, we offer a number of benefits to exhibitors and attendees alike,” says Tim von Gal, executive vice president, Urban Expositions, producers and managers of Material World.  “Attendees will have the chance to explore the newest introductions while also getting an inside look at breaking apparel colors, trends, textures and fabrics, which certainly influence home furnishings trend directions.  Exhibitors can tap into key export markets through the many Latin American decision-makers who attend Material World.  Many of our current exhibitors who already serve the home furnishings market will benefit from expanded sales opportunities. We also hope to address a void left from the departure of home textiles and leather trade shows in Miami Beach in the past few years.” As an added benefit for attendees, the Home Furnishings section will also feature a special trend and color pavilion highlighting fabric and resources from many exhibiting companies. The Home Furnishings section joins many other Material World product and service highlights, including: ASAP GLOBAL SOURCING SHOW, MATERIAL WORLD INTRODUCE GLOBAL PAVILION: Urban Expositions and the ASAP Global Sourcing Show, a division of Cyber Merchandise Exchange (OTCBB:CMEE) have entered into a marketing alliance designed to further expand the international exhibitor base of Material World. As part of the alliance, participating countries – such as China, India, Pakistan, Korea, Japan, Hong Kong, Taiwan, South Africa and others – will form their own country pavilions within a Global Pavilion at Material World, giving attendees the chance to explore the full range of fabrics, textiles, company production strengths, pricing structures and capabilities each country offers. EXPANSIVE EXHIBITOR BASE OFFERS ONE-STOP RESOURCE FOR ATTENDEES: In addition to the Global Pavilion and new Home Furnishings section, Material World will once again bring together the introductions and innovations from leading companies from North, Central and South America, the Caribbean, Europe and other regions in every sector, including fabric, trim, yarn, components, educational institutions, contractors, manufacturers, technology (CAD, PDM, web-enabled solutions), full-package providers, publications, services (freight forwarders, financial, color/trend forecasting), associations and others. The seventh edition of Material World is expected to attract even more key decision-makers from throughout North, Central and South America, and the Caribbean, including CEOs, presidents, general managers, manufacturing vice presidents, sourcing executives, product development executives, designers, manufacturers, purchasing agents, marketing executives, branded apparel companies and retailers, including mail order, private label and e-business, importers and others.  SPRING/SUMMER 2006 COLOR AND TREND FORECASTS: In addition to product, packaging and sourcing opportunities and the new Home Furnishings color and trend area, the March 2005 event will feature trend pavilions highlighting the color, fabric and trim elements expected to define the fashion direction for Spring/Summer 2006.  In addition, color and trend presentations from Cotton Incorporated and other trend leaders will be a key part of the event. TECHNOLOGY SOLUTIONS: Running concurrently with Material World, Technology Solutions is the premier exposition and conference for information technology that enables today’s sewn products industry.  Technology Solutions will give attendees the chance to find solutions from the industry’s leading innovators.  In addition, the educational forum will include an unrivaled schedule of case studies, and a variety of other programs providing the latest, in-depth information on today’s most important technology issues and opportunities.  For more information, visit www.techsolutionsexpo.com.
