Richard Ellis Rejoins Buxbaum Group As Executive V.P. For New Business Development

Richard K. Ellis has rejoined Buxbaum Group as executive vice president for new business development. Buxbaum Group and its affiliates provide services in the areas of turnaround management, downsizing strategies, asset appraisals and liquidations. Most recently, he was president of CheckPoint, a multi-national industrial pumping company servicing the petroleum and chemical industries through offices in New Orleans, Houston, and Aberdeen, Scotland. Ellis, who founded the business in 1993, recently sold his shares to a private investing group. From 1990 to 1993, Ellis was a liquidation manager at Buxbaum Group, directing sales at such retailers as Frederick & Nelson Department Stores, Weinstocks Department Stores, Thrifty Drug Stores, and National Lumber. Prior to that, he was a turnaround manager and equity partner in Spice by Bergeron, a chain of upscale ladies apparel boutiques, based in New Orleans. In returning to Buxbaum Group, Ellis, 40, has relocated to Malibu, Calif. Ellis, who spent the majority of his life as a resident of Louisiana and Texas, attended Texas A&M University. Buxbaum Group, together with affiliate Buxbaum/Century, has built its reputation for over 30 years as one of the largest liquidators and appraisers of retail and wholesale inventories, as well as machinery and industrial equipment, across North America. A subsidiary, Pathway Strategic Partners, LLC, provides turnaround, expansion and/or downsizing strategies, in conjunction with other advisory consulting and management services.
