AICO Launches Management Restructuring Program Citing Future Growth Planning

AICO (Amini Innovation Corp.), importer of dining room, bedroom and occasional furniture, has strengthened its executive staff IN a major overhaul and addition to senior positions, said Michael Amini , who has stepped up to the post of chairman and chief executive officer. He is succeeded as president by Larry Rinaldi, who has been vice president of sales and marketing since joining AICO three years ago. Martin Ploy, president of Castro-Krause's Industries, Inc. from November, 2001. until June of 2002, is takig over Rinaldi's post. Prior to handling the closing and liquidation of 19 of the retailer's 29 stores the executive was senior vice president of sales at BenchCraft Furniture. "In the past three years, AICO has enjoyed tremendous growth in business with domestic and foreign retailers,'' Amini noted. "Most impressive has been our increase in sales by 110 percent in the face of industry sales that have been battered." The chairman said, "The executive team will serve as a mainspring for the company's future growth that is in the planning stage. We're a rapidly growing company and this is just the initial phase as AICO reveals additional major changes. "Larry's and Martin's successes and experiences will be pivotal to our ambitious growth program," Amini said. Founded in 1988, AICO will mark its fifteenth anniversary next year. It recently disclosed an innovative product engineering and protective cartoning program along with introduction of a tradeup furniture collections merchandised as the "Michael Amini Signature Series." Founded as an importer of occasional tables, AICO has evolved into one of the industry's fastest growing casegoods importers with sources throughout Asia.
