The Unfinished Furniture Association (UFA) has once again made a difference during its Annual National Convention & Trade Show recently in host city, Denver, Colorado. Convention exhibitors donated nearly $35,000 worth of unfinished and finished furniture products to a local Denver charity. Only in its sophomore year, UFA’s charity program has given unfinished furniture manufacturers the opportunity to support the local community at each host city and make a difference in the lives of those less fortunate. This year, the 206 products donated benefit Mountain States Children’s Home, an organization that extends services to hurting children. The following is the list of donor companies: Archbold Furniture Co.; Arthur W. Brown Mfg. Co, Inc.; Bear Chair Company Ltd.; Catskill Craftsmen; Donie Chair Company; John Greenleaf Furniture; Khoury Inc.; Maco Wood Products; Mastercraft; Modern Furniture; Pinewood Cottage; Rocky Butte Mfg.; Skog Furniture; Wallies/McCall Pattern Company; Walnut Hollow; Westview Products; Woodcraft Industries. Special consideration goes to London Grove Industries, Inc. from West Grove, Pennsylvania, who donated four exhibit booths of 51 products worth nearly $22,000. "We have been blessed this year in business and wanted to do something for others, especially children, that have not been so blessed. Talking with all the MSCH people at the show, we felt it was the right thing to do," emphasized Ron Conant, Sales and Marketing Director for London Grove Industries, Inc. Mountain States Children's Home (MSCH) extends services to hurting children in an effort to meet their physical needs, heal their emotional hurts, challenge their minds and teach them moral principles, in order to reach the goals of reuniting them with their families or preparing for independence. "Once again, UFA has touched the lives of hurting children and supported a local community- my community," said UFA president Sylvia Thompson of Sonhsine Furniture in Aurora, Colorado. "Our association has truly come together more than ever before and exceeded our goals. The overwhelming response from manufacturers in this industry is heart warming.
