“I like pale mute colors with a peachy pink base for Fall. Take the yellows out of changing maple leaves, saffron, soft pink like the skin, and natural hues that are in cork and make them part of your life.” What fabrics? “Taffeta, cotton and leather are a great mix for Fall – something unexpected yet warming for the time of year.” What are some easy ideas to make a room feel different with the oncoming of Fall? "Slipcovers instantly change the look of a room with minimal effort. Another option is to pull up your cotton rugs and leave the floor bare until the Winter sets in when you might need something heavy like a wool. Small touches also offer lots of options -- like adding pillows with a crisp feel, logs in the living room fireplace or white pumpkins in the kitchen – all of which create a different accent within the room.” What inspires you in the Fall? “I find the change of seasons in the Northeast to be so inspiring. The rich colors of the leaves and how they interplay with the landscape and the crispy weather make for the perfect day.” What can you suggest to make a room feel warmer in the colder months? “Small adjustments to lighting greatly affect the feel of a room. For the Fall and Winter, amber tones soften the atmosphere and pick up the pink tones in the skin.”
