Furniture Brands International Names Larry Milan President of Maitland-Smith

W.G. (Mickey) Holliman, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Furniture Brands International, Inc. (NYSE:FBN), and Jeff Young, President and Chief Executive Officer of HDM Furniture Industries, a subsidiary of Furniture Brands, announced the appointment of Larry Milan as President of Maitland-Smith Furniture Industries, a subsidiary of HDM. Mr. Milan served as president of Maitland-Smith in the early 1990s prior to Furniture Brands' ownership of the company. His most recent responsibility was as Vice President and Controller of Masco Contractor Services, a multi-billion dollar company with over 300 divisions nationwide. Prior to that he held senior-level financial and operational management responsibilities in several furniture manufacturing and distribution companies including Henredon, which is also a Furniture Brands company. Mr. Milan's appointment will be effective September 11, 2006. Jeff Young commented: "Larry brings back to Maitland-Smith a wealth of business experience to help us leverage the resources of Maitland-Smith with its sister companies, Drexel Heritage and Henredon. His financial, sales, distribution, and global supply chain experience spans many aspects of the furniture industry and several overseas appointments. Under his previous leadership Maitland-Smith exhibited dynamic growth, and we know he will continue this legacy of success as he returns to our company."
