After successfully concluding its 13th edition in spring earlier this year, the Indian Handicrafts and Gifts Fair would bring in full view the best from the Indian repertoire of crafts during the Autumn 2002 edition. The show is slated from October 13 - 16 2002, in New Delhi, India. The fair is being held at one of the prime display centers spread over 40,000 square meters of area at Pragati Maidan in New Delhi and attracts international buyers from all over the world looking for handicraft products from India. Over 1000 leading manufacturers and exporters from the handicrafts industry would be displaying a wide range of traditional and contemporary handicraft products. Being one of the largest and most popular trading events, both amongst the buyers and exporters, the fair over the years has given a big boost to the Indian Handicrafts Industry. It offers one the most lucrative platforms for trade to the participants and gives the buyers a great opportunity to directly source new products and ideas from the participating exporters At IHGF Autumn 2002 edition products from over 100 categories would be on display encompassing everything from home utility, decorative and gift items to fashion jewellery, accessories, bags and clocks; home textiles, furnishings, furniture and floorings, and Christmas and Floral decorations. Also, on display would be products made eco friendly materials made of handmade paper, jute, alternative wood, terracotta, vegetable dyed textiles and dry flowers. A special focus at the fair would be on Indian textiles with over 200 textile participating exporters. For those looking for innovative gift ideas, there would be opportunities to source products and designs that have never been seen before in fairs outside India. The fair would play host to leading buyers and their representatives from USA, UK, Germany, France, Spain, Italy, Greece, Netherlands, Portugal, Cyprus, Romania, Israel, Hong Kong, Singapore, Australia, New Zealand, Japan, Scandinavia, Benelux, Latin America and the Middle East. It has been strategically timed with other Asian Fairs to ensure that all visitors can easily schedule it in their travel itinerary. IHGF Autumn 2002 is being promoted by the Indian Handicrafts and Gifts Fair Committee of the Export Promotion Council for Handicrafts (EPCH) - an apex level government trade promotion body, which represents 7000 member handicraft exporters in India - under the aegis of the Development Commissioner (Handicrafts), Ministry of Textiles set up by the government of India. EPCH also launched in April this year, the first ever show of Furniture, Furnishing Floorings and Accessories in India. Indian Furniture, Furnishing, Floorings and Accessories Show or IFFA focused on all kinds of items and products for home décor and interiors. The show was a great success with participation of over 250 leading Indian exporters-manufacturers from the industry and a line-up of buyers from all over the globe.
