The Des Plaines, Ill.-based Schnadig Corporation leased 5,500 square feet on the 11th floor of World Market Center’s Building B. Babs Blair, Director of Leasing for World Market Center, said, “Schnadig is a very important tenant for us and has been an outstanding name in our industry for many years. We see Schnadig as a very good addition to our Market.” Don Belgrad, chairman and CEO of Schnadig, said, "We decided to open a showroom in Las Vegas because we feel Las Vegas gets a tremendous number of visitors who do not attend other markets. We felt it was very important to be in Las Vegas so that all of our targeted customers and existing customers could see our presentation." During the Winter Las Vegas Market, Schnadig will spotlight a high-end living room program including upholstery and occasional products that are shipped direct from China. Belgrad added that Schnadig will introduce extensions of its regular line plus its Compositions program. “We are excited because we feel we are going to have excellent response with the dealer base based on strong attendance,” he added. Blair praised Schnadig’s approach to the Market. “We look at our tenants as partners and when an exhibiting company like Schnadig makes the commitment to offer new products that haven't been seen anywhere else, it adds an extra push for buyers to be here,” she said. “Couple that with the draw of the Schnadig name and they will have a great experience at the January Market.” World Market Center is an integrated home and hospitality contract furnishings showroom and convention complex in Las Vegas. When fully built, at 12 million square feet in 8 buildings, World Market Center will be the largest trade show complex in the World. The 12 million square foot campus will be complete by 2013 and will showcase furniture, decorative accessories, lighting, area rugs, home textile and related segments, as well as Las Vegas Design Center (LVDC) open year-round to the trade. The second building will open in January 2007; officials are now leasing the third building to a broad cross-section of the home furnishings industry.
