Celebrated designer Debbie Mumm and artist Karla Dornacher, the creator of the HeartBlossom line will be in attendance at the August 17-21, 2002 Seattle Gift Show®. Both artisans have lines of greeting cards from Leanin’ Tree and are represented by Northwest Reps of Eugene, Oregon. Their participation in this market is to promote their new lines and answer questions retailers may have about selling and merchandising these products in their stores. In addition, Debbie and Karla will be on hand to autograph complimentary keepsake cards from their collections. "The participation of Debbie Mumm and Karla Dornacher at The Seattle Gift Show® confirms the importance of this market to Northwest retailers. Their artwork and philosophies will connect with our attendee demographic," stated Mike Dean, President, Western Exhibitors, LLC. "In addition, it will allow buyers to ask specific questions about the products and receive a full-spectrum of information directly from the source—they, in turn, will be armed with valuable information needed for promoting and marketing these items in their stores, continued Dean. Debbie Mumm blends nostalgia, fantasy and a bit of whimsy in every piece of artwork she creates. She has created a sophisticated style of contemporary folk art for a diverse array of products. Across the globe, people have been charmed by her idealistic, gentle and carefree vision of life. Respectful of tradition, trend-conscious (but never "faddy"), Mumm’s designs are created with one thought in mind—to put a smile on your face! She will appear in Northwest Rep’s booth—located in the Stationery & Trend division on the 4th Floor of the North Hall at the Washington State Convention & Trade Center—on Saturday, August 17, 2002, from 1:30 pm-3:00 pm. Karla Dornacher painted her first "serious" watercolor to commemorate her daughter’s wedding. Her friends and family encouraged her to pursue this newly discovered talent, and she has since developed a style that masterfully combines illustration, design and hand-lettered text. Dornarcher’s goal in creating HeartBlossoms was to reveal the spiritual symbolism found in objects of the home, the garden and everyday life. She will appear in Northwest Rep’s booth—located in the Stationery & Trend division on the 4th Floor of the North Hall at the Washington State Convention & Trade Center— on Sunday, August 18 and Monday, August 19, 2002, from 1:00 pm-3:00 pm. The Seattle Gift Show® will include over 900 exhibiting companies, encompassing 150,000 net square feet of exhibit space housed under one roof at the Washington State Convention & Trade Center. Throughout the 12 product divisions—At Home; FoodFocus; GardenStyle; General Gift; Handmade®; The Jewelry Vaultsm; Northwest Craft Gallery; Northwest Directions; Personal Style; Stationery & Trend; Village Arts; and The Vintage Collection—this market will feature a variety of giftware, decorative accessories, personal and fashion accessories, home décor, one-of-a-kind handmade merchandise, antiques and collectibles, tableware and fine jewelry. Nearly 15,000 buyers are expected to attend the show, which runs in cooperation with the permanent showrooms of the Seattle Gift Center (located at 6100 4th Avenue South).
