Furniture Industry Veteran Joins Research and Consulting Firm

Strategic Decisions Inc., a Thomasville, Ga.-based consumer research and consulting firm that has served the home furnishings industry for more than 20 years, announced the addition of Steve Singer to the executive team as executive vice president. The appointment of Singer to the Strategic Decisions team will allow the company to expand and develop its service offerings as the consulting firm implements a strategy to increase the scope of its business. In his new role, Singer will be responsible for developing new research products for existing clients, developing new clients and offering consulting services for new and existing clients. He will continue to work out of his established office in St. Louis, which extends the geographic reach of Strategic Decisions into the Midwest. “Steve is a long-time friend and a past client of Strategic Decisions,” says Al Wight, Strategic Decisions’ president and founder. “He brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise gained over more than two decades in the furniture and finance industries that will create many new and exciting capabilities for us to serve our clients.” Singer joins Strategic Decisions with 25 years of marketing, finance and retail experience across a broad range of industries. Prior to joining Strategic Decisions, Singer served as president of two consumer finance companies and RDR Financial Solutions, a consulting firm that caters to small businesses. In addition, Singer spent 20 years as president and owner of Schweig-Engel Company, a retail furniture, electronics and appliance chain in Missouri, where he built and managed a multi-store, 50-plus employee operation until 2004. Singer has also held a senior position in the pharmaceutical industry and served as an economist with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. Singer holds Bachelors and Masters degrees in Economics from Stanford University, and an MBA from the Harvard University Graduate School of Business Administration. “Steve’s expertise in business organization and financial analysis and planning, together with his knowledge and experience in the home furnishings business are a tremendous boon for Strategic Decisions and our clients.
