Alexis Contant Promoted To Vice President/General Manager, Boston Design Center

Merchandise Mart Properties, Inc. (MMPI) announced that Alexis Contant has been promoted to Vice President/General Manager of the Boston Design Center, effective immediately. In her new role, Contant will be responsible for all operations, marketing, leasing and building support for the 87 showrooms and office tenants housed at the Boston Design Center. “Alexis is one of the most highly regarded marketing executives in the design center industry and has proven herself to be an outstanding leader of operations as well,” said Christopher G. Kennedy, President of Merchandise Mart Properties, Inc. (MMPI), owner of the Boston Design Center. “Alexis’ 20 years of experience in luxury home furnishings allows her to bring both style and industry insight to our offerings at the Boston Design Center, enjoyed daily by designers and clients seeking the very best in interior products.” Contant has served as interim General Manager since September 2006, and Vice President of Marketing for the Boston Design Center since 2003. Previously she held senior-level leadership and marketing positions at: Ted, Inc. a New York-based, full-service agency; Fight for Children, Inc. in Washington, D.C.; the Kips Bay Boys & Girls Club in New York; the Decoration and Design Building in New York; and at Manuel Canovas, Inc. in New York. Alexis holds a certificate in economics and in French from Ecole Bilingue and Sorbonne University in Paris, France. She has resided with her husband in Newton, MA for the past four years.
