The popular High Point Market Preview Guides are now viewable online, through a collaboration with the High Point Market Authority and the International Home Furnishings Center (IHFC). Using a special technology, the 2007 Furniture Preview and the 2007Accessories Preview can be viewed page-by-page online at www.highpointmarket.org—just as if flipping through the pages of a catalog.
“The pages of each of the new Market Preview Guides provide buyers, retail owners, and designers an exciting look at what more than 2600 exhibitors are planning to show this season,” says Brian D. Casey, president and CEO of the High Point Market Authority. “By introducing the Previews on our website, we’re extending the reach and utility of the guides, while adding yet another new element to our user-friendly site. The easy-to-use format is literally as easy as turning a page.”
Buyers can access the 2007 Furniture Preview and 2007 Accessories Preview in two ways. On the High Point Market Authority’s website, www.highpointmarket.org, simply click on either the “Online Furniture Preview” link, or the “Online Accessories Preview” link on the home page. In a few moments, the full content of the Preview will be available for viewing. Both Preview Guides will also be posted on the website of the International Home Furnishings Center at www.ihfc.com.
The all-inclusive Market Guides include editorial and photography of new products, as well as a comprehensive exhibitor directory, planning information, events schedule and more. Online, viewers simply click a button to turn pages. They can skip ahead to any page, go back, and post notes on favorite pages. Emails can be sent to colleagues, linking to marked pages and notes. On each image, viewers can zoom in and see incredible details, zoom out, and pan across the picture. Advertisements are easily viewed as well, and to make planning even easier, hot links to advertisers’ websites will soon be activated.
“The Market Authority is committed to finding innovative ways to ensure that the High Point Market is the most productive business event in the home furnishings industry. By partnering with the IHFC to produce a series of official directories, including the two Previews, and now by making them available online, we are once again making it easier for our constituents to plan for and attend Market,” Casey explains.
Tom Lindh, president and chief executive of the International Home Furnishings Center (IHFC), relates, “The collaboration with the Market Authority to produce the Previews and other official Market directories has been an important one. The Market Previews are powerful resources that rank among the best in the industry. The addition of a dynamic web-based version of the Market Previews is just another example of how, together, we are providing Market-goers with the tools they need for a successful High Point Market.”
Print versions of the Previews will continue to be mailed four weeks prior to Market to all buyers who attend the High Point Market.
