High-end home furnishings and design retailer Hendrixson’s Furniture of Furlong, Pa., was the winner of Harden Furniture’s “Living Canopy Project” raffle that took place on Friday morning, March 30, in the Harden showroom in High Point. Doug Cleveland, Harden Furniture vice president of sales, selected the winning ticket, which was accepted by Ron Lloyd, the Harden sales representative for Hendrixson’s, as the family was already returning to Pennsylvania. Paul and Virginia Hendrixson, owners of Hendrixson’s Furniture, are donating the 25-pound steel tree sculpture to Camden High School, Camden, N.Y., as reward for the students’ participation in the Living Canopy Project restoration and environmental science effort. Harden Furniture will use funds raised at market to purchase a property in Upstate New York this summer that needs remediation an environmental clean up. Under the direction of students and faculty from State University of New York College of Environmental Science and Forestry, Syracuse, N.Y., Camden high school students will clean up and monitor the property. The Living Canopy Project property will function as a living classroom for years to come.
