Magnussen Home Names James V. DeRose VP Merchandising

James V. DeRose has been appointed to vice president of merchandising for Magnussen Home Furnishings, Inc. He will report to Nathan Cressman, vice president of merchandising and design.
Prior to joining Magnussen Home, DeRose was merchandise manager for wood products for Lane Furniture Industries, Inc. Before that, he held positions with SLF, Sears Homelife, Alari SRL and European Furniture Warehouse. DeRose’s extensive background in the furniture industry includes experience in merchandising, retail, marketing, design and manufacturing.
In his new position, DeRose will oversee product development from concept to approved sample, as well as manage, lead and develop the merchandising team.
“Jim’s wide-ranging experience, terrific eye for product and team-oriented attitude make him a valuable addition to Magnussen Home,” Cressman says. “Jim has a vital understanding and proven track record of product development, including concept, design, pricing, manufacturing, quality and sales.
