Richard G. Diamonstein, executive vice president of King Koil Mid-Atlantic, was elected chairman of the Board of Trustees of the International Sleep Products Association (ISPA.) Following his nomination by ISPA members, Diamonstein’s appointment became official on Friday, June 27, in Park City, UT, where he was formally elected by the ISPA Board of Trustees. Diamonstein, who has most recently served as the Board’s vice chairman, will serve a one-year term.
As chairman of the Board, Diamonstein will serve as chief executive officer of the association. He will preside at ISPA membership meetings, serve on ISPA committees including the Executive Committee, and work with ISPA president Dick Doyle to advance member interests.
“ISPA has experienced a year of tremendous change,” said Diamonstein. “It has been a complicated process, but the results are very positive. With new committees, more active involvement of members, clear direction through our strategic plan and fiscal responsibility, I see a strong representative organization that can meet and exceed the needs of its members.”
“I look forward to collaborating with Richard to serve our members, to implement the objectives of ISPA’s strategic plan, to advance key industry issues, and to build value for our membership,” said Doyle. “Richard has already been a tremendous asset to our association and will enhance our efforts moving forward.”
Diamonstein has held various positions in finance and operations management since joining King Koil Mid-Atlantic, a third-generation family business, in 1985. As executive vice president, he has streamlined operations through information systems technology.
Prior to joining King Koil, Diamonstein served as an associate for the law firm of Hofheimer, Nusbaum in Norfolk, VA, where he handled business-related matters. He holds a J.D. from the
University of Richmond, T.C. Williams School of Law and a B.S. in commerce from the University of Virginia McIntyre School of Commerce. Diamonstein is an active member of his community, having participated in various leadership roles and committees.
Established in 1915, International Sleep Products Association is the trade organization for mattress manufacturers and their suppliers around the world. ISPA hosts the biennial ISPA EXPO trade shows and publishes BEDtimes and Sleep Savvy magazines.
