Extended Financing For Your Customer At Reduced Rates

Home Furnishings International Association (HFIA) and GE Retail Sales Finance are now offering more reduced rate promotions to HFIA members using the Interiors Private Label Credit Card Program. GE Retail Sales Finance has added over 100 additional days of reduced rate promotions to help boost retail sales. “It is known that credit card financing can increase sales,” said Mary Frye, President of Home Furnishings International Association. “But sometimes the standard credit card, with its 25-day grace term, is just not compelling enough to cause the customer to buy, especially if it’s a major purchase. That’s why the Interiors Private Label Credit Card Program should be your card of choice in your store. The Interiors program lets you offer everything from “grace period” billing to 90-days same as cash to 24-months same as cash, with other options in-between.” In most cases, 90-days same as cash is still a powerful marketing tool for closing sales in the furniture industry. But selective use of the longer term financing options can be helpful in closing difficult sales and attracting new business. For example, a short weekend sale with 6-month same as cash financing advertised in the newspaper could help generate additional traffic at minimal additional cost. Similarly, a customer who might be walking out the door because their budget can’t handle a purchase may reconsider when longer term financing available.
