Laura Ashley, Inc. announced it is a committed sponsor of the upcoming nationally-television special “Frosted Pink,” which will air on ABC Sunday, October 14, at 4 PM EST. One out of every three women will develop cancer in their lifetime. “Frosted Pink” is a dynamic mix of live musical performances, figure skating, and Hollywood celebrities who will, by appearing together on national television, raise awareness of women’s cancers and inspire individuals to take action. The lineup includes: • Musical performances by Rascal Flatts, Olivia Newton-John (breast cancer survivor), Joss Stone, Anastacia (breast cancer survivor), Babyface, and Heart. • Figure skating routines by Katarina Witt, Kristi Yamaguchi, Oksana Baiul, and more; • Celebrity appearances by Sharon Osbourne (colon cancer survivor), Marg Helgenberger, William Baldwin, and more. A major component of Laura Ashley’s involvement is a special on-camera interview segment with A-list stars titled “Backstage with Laura Ashley,” hosted in a stylish setting showcasing Laura Ashley home furnishings from Kincaid Furniture Company as well as other home décor products from the Laura Ashley brand. Featured products include living room case pieces from the Laura Ashley Cheshire collection of solid wood in a rich, antiqued finish, and the Elm Park camelback sofa with complementary accent chair covered in Laura Ashley fabrics by Kravet. “It’s as important to raise awareness about women’s cancer as it is to encourage individuals to get involved,” said Hope Gough, Marketing Manager of Laura Ashley, Inc. “It was an easy decision to sponsor an event of this nature considering almost everyone, in some way or another, be it directly or through a loved one, has been touched by cancer.” Four of America’s leading cancer advocacy organizations have aligned with “Frosted Pink” in an effort to broaden the message to the millions who are affected by cancer: the Gynecological Cancer Foundation, the National Breast Cancer Coalition, the National Coalition for Cancer Survivorship, and the Ovarian Cancer National Alliance. “Frosted Pink’s” message is simple, but impactful: do something. It’s a call to action on women’s cancers and is meant to encourage individuals to get involved in their communities. Those interested in learning more about how they can get involved can visit the show’s website, www.frostedpink.org, for more information on how to get educated, get empowered, and take action. After airing on ABC, Frosted Pink will re-air on the Style Network four times throughout the month of October (dates not yet announced). The “Frosted Pink” campaign is the beginning of a two-year initiative. In 2008, ABC will air “Pink with a Twist,” a sister production of “Frosted Pink,” featuring America’s top gymnasts, including the 2007 World All-Around Champion, Shawn Johnson, along with appearances by Hollywood A-listers and other chart-topping artists. Laura Ashley, Inc. is also a committed sponsor to “Pink with a Twist.” “Frosted Pink” was conceived by Edge Entertainment CEO Mike Burg, a Hodgkin’s disease survivor.
