World Market Center Las Vegas announced that Cresent Fine Furniture will open a showroom in Building C on the World Market Center Las Vegas campus in 2008. The 2,030-square-foot showroom on the 11th floor of building C will be strategically located near similar high-end furniture companies on the floor, said Richard Tomkins, Vice President sales and marketing for Cresent Fine Furniture, which is based in Gallatin, Tenn. Cresent Fine Furniture is a 60-year-old, third-generation, family-owned company specializing in higher-end residential home furnishings, including bedroom, dining room, occasional and entertainment pieces. “We look forward to having a significant presence with our permanent showroom at World Market Center Las Vegas,” Tomkins said. “This will be a definite draw for upper-end product like ours and we are enthusiastic about showcasing our company and our new and best-selling collections to a broader geographic audience and more major players.” Tomkins said Cresent is planning retail-focused displays for the showroom. “We understand the challenges retailers face to replicate Market displays, which are traditionally very well appointed with lots of color and accessories. We are looking at how we can merchandise our best sellers and new product in retail-focused displays grouped together by lifestyle to make it easier for the buyer to shop.” Cresent, which also has a showroom in High Point, N.C., will bring the brand new Cresent Classics line to Las Vegas Market visitors. The company is a founding member of the Sustainable Furniture Council and Cresent Classics is one of the company’s initiatives featuring solid wood designs that are sustainably harvested. The designs also feature components that are compliant with California’s newly adopted formaldehyde emissions standards.
