University Loft Company (ULC) announced the addition of a new Vice President of Retail Sales to its team. Seasoned furniture executive veteran Ted Jarnagin has joined University Loft Company to head up their retail sales division. Jarnagin first entered the furniture industry after graduating from the University of Tennessee when he began his career at The Bean Station Furniture Factory, a company started and owned by his father. It was here that Jarnagin started his career with some of ULC’s current Morristown, Tenn. facility employees. “Few people get the opportunity to finish their career with many of the same group of professionals that they started their career with, which I am now doing in Morristown,” noted Jarnagin. Most recently, he held the position of Team Leader at Davis International where he hired and trained their sales force for the eastern portion of the United States and called on top 100 National Accounts. At University Loft Company, Jarnagin will be responsible for overseeing the operations of the retail sales division and will report to James Jannetides, president and CEO of ULC. “I am thrilled to have Ted on our team. I know he will be one of our company’s greatest assets as we continue and strive to grow our retail sales division,” said Jannetides. James Jannetides founded University Loft Company in 1986 while attending Southern Illinois University. James built a loft for his room to maximize space in his typically small dorm room. Other students admired his loft system, and that summer James invested his savings in enough wood to build 400 loft units. Upon returning to school, these high-demand lofts were sold to fellow students and that’s where ULC was born. Today, ULC manages more than 1,200 university accounts per year. University Loft Company is considered a leader in the government sector and retail division, as well.
