Bob's Discount Furniture, the fastest growing furniture retailer in the northeast, with stores in Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York and Rhode Island, announced that it is teaming-up with the Pajama Program, a nonprofit organization providing new and warm pajamas and books to children in need throughout the United States, for a pajama and book drive on Saturday, February 16, 2008 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. The public is encouraged to drop off new pajamas and books at their nearest Bob's Discount Furniture store for infants and children up to 17 years old. With every donation, each person becomes eligible to win a seven-day luxury cruise for four people to the Caribbean which will be awarded on February 19, 2008. "We would like everybody to open their hearts and join us as we celebrate the magic of giving as we collect warm sleepwear and nurturing books for children in need. The Pajama Program is helping so many children across the United States as it supports group homes, shelters, foster homes and programs that help abused children. I am looking forward to seeing all of our past, present and future customers on Saturday, February 16th at one of our many Bob's Discount Furniture stores. With each donation, an individual will receive an admission ticket see to a favorite Nickelodeon TV character such as SpongeBob SquarePants, Jimmy Neutron or enjoy a terrific magic show where they will receive a cuddly Bobby Bear," explained Cathy Poulin, Bob's Discount Furniture TV personality. All Bob's Discount Furniture locations during the new pajama and book drive will be giving away food and prizes and the chance to win a cruise for four persons on Norwegian Cruise Line's Explorer II. (Select Bob's Discount Furniture locations will be offering the 11 a.m. magic show and others will be hosting the Nickelodeon characters. See www.mybobs.com for further information). Bob's Discount Furniture's Cathy Poulin will be making a personal appearance on Saturday, February 16th at the South Attleboro, Massachusetts store located in the Bristol Place Plaza, 1120 Newport Avenue (Rt. 1A), South Attleboro, MA, phone (508) 915-5000. "We presently have over 50 Pajama Program chapters in the United States right now helping children who may not know the comforts of a mother or father to tuck them into a cozy bed and read them a bedtime story. However, it's vital right now to receive contributions of new pajamas of all sizes - big and small -- and books that are popular with kids today," said Genevieve Piturro, founder and executive director, Pajama Program. The Pajama Program, a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization, provides new pajamas and books to needy children in the United States, many who are waiting and hoping to be adopted. These are youngsters who may not know the comforts of a mother or father to tuck them into a cozy bed and read them a bedtime story. The organization's overall mission is to provide a loving environment for children who have lived through a great deal of hurt in their young lives and to give them hope for a better tomorrow.
