The International Home Furnishings Center, High Point Market’s first and largest showroom complex, announced the creation of a weblog to debut this week.
To be known as Inside IHFC — News from the Center of the High Point Market (www.insideihfc.com), the blog will post news and information about style and design, as it relates to the tenants and activities of the dynamic 3.5 million square foot building.
“We will be telling our own story frequently,” said Tom Lindh, president and chief executive officer. “Inside IHFC augments our traditional marketing, and will post news and information about our tenants, programs and market events.”
He explained that the blog’s style will be chatty, insightful and authoritative.
“As an important business partner to the industry, we felt the need to share as much news as possible about IHFC. That includes new tenants, showroom expansions, focus on decorative accessories-home accents, plus the always fresh and exciting InterHall where style and design command attention and more,” Lindh said.
Postings will occur as warranted, with frequent progress reports on Pavilions On 3, a focused exhibitor area for temporary exhibitors of decorative accessories-home accents, in addition to business news, trend spotting and interviews with industry leaders.
Inside IHFC will be interactive. “No blog is balanced or complete without reader input in the form of views, insights and constructive observations. Inside IHFC welcomes input and comments,” he said.
Opening in 1921, IHFC is the original showroom building in High Point. After 87years of expansion remains the centerpiece of the world’s largest home-furnishings trade show that attracts more than 80,000 participants twice a year to 2,600 show rooms encompassing 12 million square feet.
IHFC is home to 500 of the leading home-furnishings manufacturers, including 13 of the top 20 companies, and covers 3.5 million square feet.
