Harden Moves To 200 Steele Building Showroom In High Point

Harden Furniture announced that it will debut its High Point showroom located in the 200 Steele building during the spring High Point furniture market. The high-end U.S. furniture manufacturer’s new, 7,800-square-foot space, located in Suite 133, will open year-round to interior designers following the bi-annual tradeshow. Harden’s new showroom boasts the company’s most comprehensive design center ever, anchoring an impressive exhibition space with beamed ceilings, stone walls, exotic mouldings, decorative paint treatments and other architectural embellishments. Company executives say the move will help Harden service its designer trade, in addition to its residential and contract furniture dealers. “The move to 200 Steele reflects our strategic focus on customer service,” said Greg Harden, president and chief executive officer. “Outside of the spring and fall markets when we see our key retail customers, we can better accommodate our growing interiors trade. The new space allows designers to take full advantage of Harden’s extensive customization options and capabilities.” “The [Harden] High Point showroom is a true destination for designers, especially [those] from the East Coast and Southeastern States,” said Carol Tyndall, Harden’s representative in charge of showroom sales. “We have seen a huge uptick in international business with the currency situation, too, and 200 Steele is a wonderful draw for that audience.” Harden is a vertically integrated manufacturer of heirloom-quality case goods and upholstery, employing approximately 400 craftspeople in Upstate New York. The company is regarded for its offering of numerous wood finishes and hardware and fabric options, among other custom specifications. A longstanding environmental steward, Harden is a charter member of the Sustainable Furniture Council (SFC). Harden uses SFI-certified wood species, offers eco-friendly fabrics and cushion options, and incorporates sustainable practices into its manufacturing processes. For retail customers, upgrades to the company’s successful Harden Home Studio™ will additionally be unveiled in the new space during the upcoming market. Launched in 2007, over 50 Harden dealers have committed to the proven, high-margin in-store program. “The sales growth for our retail customers who have committed to Harden Home Studio is our best PR story,” said Doug Cleveland, national sales manager, Harden. “When they hear their peers talking about double-digit increases on sell-through in a subdued economic environment, previously reticent dealers sign up.” Harden will host several at-market events in celebration of the move. Saturday, April 5th at 4:00 pm, Harden’s new showroom ribbon-cutting ceremony, immediately followed by a champagne reception, is open to all. Monday, April 7th at 3:00 pm, GRID2’s Martin Roberts will be on hand to discuss new design directions with current and prospective Harden Home Studio™ dealers. Tuesday, April 8th at 5:00 pm, Harden will host a cocktail reception to celebrate its new European solid wood collection, Continental Crossings. Wednesday, April 9th at 4:00 pm, Susan Inglis, Sustainable Furniture Council will speak to interior designers about trends in eco-friendly home furnishings.
