Tom Zaliagiris, former president of Taylor King, has started a new company, Bentley Churchill Furniture, Inc. The Taylorsville-based company manufactures high-end fashion upholstery that is crafted by hand. Zaliagiris will serve as Bentley Churchill's president and chief executive officer. The company is based on Zaliagiris' 24 years of experience in the furniture industry. "Our focus is on doing all the things I have learned over the years that are important to customers and consumers," says Zaliagiris. "Most importantly, we are eliminating the overhead that seems to saddle a lot of older companies." Tim Shook, former plant manager of Taylor King, will be Bentley Churchill's vice president of operations, bringing 23 years of experience to the new company. Fred Crump will serve as chief financial officer with 30 years of furniture business experience. Formerly with Hickory Manufacturing and Emerson Leather, Crump is past president of the American Furniture Manufacturers Association's Finance Division. Bentley Churchill's mission statement is: to bring to the marketplace the finest quality furniture at the lowest possible price. As a manufacturer, Zaliagiris and Bentley Churchill's executive team are committed to making every dollar count, while putting as much money as possible directly into their products. Bentley Churchill is a 25,000 square foot facility located in Taylorsville, NC. Shipments are expected to begin by mid- to late May 2003. Over the course of Zaliagiris' 24 years in the industry, he has found a lot of friends and supporters. Zaliagiris would like to thank them for supporting him in this new venture.
