Ultrasuede®, announced that it will raise its brand profile this spring with new designer colors, new patterns and new applications debuting in upscale showrooms throughout the High Point Market.
“Ultrasuede intends to lead the market with high-end designs including new embossed textures and dynamic color stories,” said Helen Corio, marketing and sales manager, Toray Ultrasuede (America), Inc. (TUA). “We are directing our efforts to serve the interior designers and merchandisers who are so important to our business.”
Designer’s Choice Collection Announced
TUA creative consultant Jane Matteson called on a cadre of four top designers to collaborate in the first-ever Ultrasuede® Designer’s Choice collection. Each high-profile luxury designer has selected signature colors to be executed in high-performance Ultrasuede® covers for upholstered furniture.
- Jamie Drake – Drake Pink, shocking pink with peach undertones; and Drake Lavender, a soft, grey-based lavender
- Vladimir Kagan – Kagan Red, a perfect balance of orange and red to complement a neutral palette
- Stanley Jay Friedman – Stanley and Iris, a deep, saturated purple-based blue
- Barclay Butera – Butera Blue, a Mediterranean-inspired ocean blue that complements designer palettes
The new colors will be available later this year.
Vladimir Kagan Retrospective at High Point Market
Vladimir Kagan’s iconic furniture designs, including vintage upholstery frames originally conceived in Ultrasuede®, are on display at American Leather. Kagan’s retro Matinee sofa is showcased here in a thoroughly modern black-and-white palette featuring current Ultrasuede® colors Polar White and Black Onyx.
Editors are welcome to attend the celebration and cocktail event Tuesday, April 8, in American Leather’s penthouse showroom atop Showplace, 5:30 – 8:30 p.m.
Metals Attract
Meeting the home furnishings market’s lust for metallic accents, which moved quickly from fashion to furniture, Ultrasuede® offers Giltmore, a popular standard article from the line that showcases a hint of glint.
Leathercraft debuts a barrel-style swivel chair in the metallic embossed Ultrasuede®, Giltmore, which has an intense black ground touched with a random pattern of silver.
More news to come on metallic finishes including a pearlized faux leather.
New Texture: Galaxy, an embossed upholstery-weight Ultrasuede® cover with abstract pattern is seen on the Sideways dining bench at Thayer Coggin in High Point.
More to come on new ostrich and basketweave embossings.
