The Cultural Embassy announced the opening of new showroom in a converted gas station at 301 W. English Road. Cultural Embassy is the brainchild of furniture industry maven Scott Morgan, a recent transplant to High Point. “My intention is to bring a cross-cultural, cross-global, unique mix of design and unusual products to the area”, says Morgan. “When you see our Goldfish symbol, you’ll know you’ve discovered a place where you’ll find an unusual blend of products and great designs.” The showroom will feature a unique blend of high-end furniture (new, vintage, and antique), fine art, rare and beautiful objects, and the handcrafted rugs of the Himalayan Rug Company produced by women artisans in Nepal. In addition to the wholesale/retail showroom space at the gas station, Cultural Embassy is associated with a group of galleries, artists, designers, restaurateurs, and other “Ambassadors” such as Red Egg, the New Vintage Gallery, and Jules Art & Antiques and others who carry the Cultural Embassy Goldfish emblem. The Cultural Embassy also has plans underway to develop alternative exhibit spaces and bring interesting events and cross-collaborations with museums, universities, artists, and others to the Triad. News of these upcoming events and a map of member locations is available at Cultural Embassy and online at their new website (www.culturalembassy.com). The showroom is located at 301 W. English Road in a former filling station at the downtown High Point intersection of Kivett, Elm, and English Road.
