Biltmore Estate For Your Home has signed a licensing agreement with Summer Classics to create garden furniture as well as fireplace accessories under the brand. Products will include adaptations of wicker and rattan that once furnished the Loggia of Biltmore House, the historic home of George W. Vanderbilt and America’s largest home. Other furniture will include dining groups of wrought iron, inspired by ironwork in Biltmore House, and cast aluminum reflecting classical designs which fill Biltmore House, all updated to accommodate today’s consumer demands for comfort and casual living. Products will also include fireplace accessories inspired by the 64 majestic fireplaces in Biltmore House. The first two collections Chateau—wrought iron construction and Vanderbilt—cast aluminum construction, will debut at the Casual Furniture Market in September 2003. “The Vanderbilt’s loved the outdoors and spent a great deal of time entertaining in their magnificent gardens and on the sweeping loggia and terraces,” said Tim Rosebrock, Director of Business Development, Biltmore Estate Brands. “In Summer Classics, we have identified a partner who can interpret that grand era with designs to meet the needs of today’s consumers. Their exceptional commitment to quality and design and their ability to produce metal, wood and all-weather wicker products makes them the ideal partner to bring Biltmore Estate For Your Home garden furniture to market.” Summer Classics has built a reputation over the past twenty-five years as a design leader in garden furniture and fireplace accessories. “Summer Classics has been noted for its romantic look,” said Bew White, President of Summer Classics. “We see Biltmore Estate For Your Home as a great fit from the standpoint of quality and attention to detail as reflected in America’s largest home, Biltmore House.” The Columbiana, Alabama, based business also has showrooms in Chicago, Atlanta and Pelham, Alabama. To support the roll out of this program, the products will be available in retail shops on Biltmore Estate in addition to, Summer Classic’s retail partners and Summer Classic stores. Biltmore Estate for Your Home is a multi-faceted program that draws inspiration from the entertaining and hospitality extended to the Vanderbilt’s guests at the turn of the 19th century. The branded program includes representation in the categories of home furnishings, home and garden decorative accessories, permanent botanicals, home textiles and home design.
