The Frederick, Md., Bassett Furniture Direct showroom was the scene of great excitement on May 1, as a crowd of more than one hundred people gathered to hear Chris Madden, host of HGTV’s Interiors By Design and author of numerous best-selling decorating books, present a home decorating seminar. Ms. Madden, who designed Bassett’s popular Chris Madden Collection of home furnishings, discussed design elements such as color, texture, trims and accessories during her presentation entitled, “Decorating Basics: Finding Your Own Style.” The seminar, which was filmed by CBS Sunday Morning News as part of an upcoming segment on Ms. Madden, kicked off Ms. Madden’s book tour for The New American Living Room, and was offered as a free service to customers of the Frederick Bassett Furniture Direct.
