National Home Furnishings Association’s (NHFA) announced that its New England Chapter members and others from the home furnishings industry will gather June 11 for a fun-filled day of golf and camaraderie, all in a good cause. The 2008 annual golf outing will take place at the Stowe Acres Country Club in Stowe, Mass. The event will benefit the New England Home for Little Wanderers (The Home). The charity’s mission is “To ensure the healthy emotional, mental and social development of children at risk, their families and communities.” Since 1799 children and families in Massachusetts have found helping hands in the various agencies which now are found in The Home. The Home’s singular focus is to help children achieve independence and success. Programs supporting the mission range from early intervention for infants with problems to special education for older children. Foster care and adoption programs are also among the organization’s initiatives on behalf of children. Joe Quintal, Rotman’s Furniture, Worcester, Mass., President of the NHFA New England Chapter and Member of the NHFA Board of Directors, encourages participation from all segments of the home furnishings industry since it will add much needed support to a worthwhile and ongoing effort. “I invite everyone to join us, grab their clubs and enjoy a great day of golf and, most importantly, contribute to a truly meaningful cause.” Home furnishings industry reps are especially invited. A continental breakfast, followed by 18 holes of golf, will kick off the day’s activities for the New England Chapter. A buffet dinner and presentation of awards and prizes will conclude the festivities. Over 100 players are expected to participate. For reservations and/or information call Laurie Auman at NHFA, 800-888-9590, ext.6169.
